Seborrheic keratosis usually looks like a waxy scaly and slightly raised or wart like growth. It typically appears on the head, face, neck, chest, shoulders or back. You may develop a single growth, though multiple growths are more common. Seborrheic keratoses are harmless and not contagious.

The Skin Classic treatment for seborrheic keratosis treats the irregularity easily and without bleeding, unlike other removal methods available. Characteristics of Seborrheic keratosis:

Ranges in color from light tan to brown or black

Starts middle aged and order
Round or oval shaped
Has a "stuck on" appearance
Flat or slightly raised with a scaly surface
Ranges in size from very small to more than 1 inch (2.5 centimeters) across

SK is a common benign growth, skin compose of a lot of layers of dead skin piled up on the surface to give it a rough, crusty scaly kind of texture. The word seborrheic means upper body, where most of these types of lesions grow and keratosis refers to their texture, the waxy wart like.

They appear as we get older, and can start developing as early as the 30s or 40s.However, by the age of 50 plus, most individuals may have grown one or several of them. They can grow anywhere on the body, but are most common on the truck and head. They range in size and color. From as small as a pin head, as large as 5 to 6 centimeters around. The color varies from flesh colored, or a range of color from light tan, to brown, even black.
